Things to do
beaches
Our favorite beaches to visit are Cerritos, San Pedrito, and Playa Las Palmas.
Cerritos
Cerritos is the best beach for swimming, surfing, hanging out for the day and whale watching.
Barracuda Cantina is a great spot to grab lunch while spending the day on the beach. Costa Azul surf shop and CRT surf school offer surf lessons and surfboard rentals. Cerritos has plenty of Airbnb (condo and houses depending on your group size) and hotel options within walking distance to the beach.
San Pedrito
San Pedrito beach is right after Cerritos there are two entrances- the first entrance is the road that leads to Baja Beans coffee the other entrance is the road alongside the basil fields that lead to Pura Playa. San Pedrito is a popular surf beach, it is swimmable and recommended for more advanced surfers (be careful with currents and rocks) and tends to have bigger waves than Cerritos beach.
Las palmas
Las Palmas is a secluded beach tucked behind a palm grove- it is located at km 58 on the highway. Take the dirt road to the parking lot and then walk through the palm grove to the beach. The currents can be strong here so it is not recommended for swimming but there is a freshwater stream that runs through which is nice for cooling off.
Punta Lobos
Punta Lobos beach at Hotel San Cristobal - watch the fisherman come in on their boats in their afternoon, a sight to see!

Where to eat
El Pescadero + Cerritos Beach
Barracuda Cantina is a MUST! Located just up the beach from the surf break in Cerritos beach. Kerry could live off of a Barracuda Cantina diet! Fish and shrimp tacos and burritos (burritos sell out early so go for lunch), fried avocado tacos, fresh ceviche and margaritas. We recommended a spicy margarita (with mezcal is the best) or a sexy mexi or really any drink with maracuya (passion fruit). The staff is great and the bartenders are always mixing up new cocktails. They just opened a second location at Plaza Amigos food court in Todos Santos.
Uvas Y Hoyas- Our good friend Dominic has a shop where he sells books, Mexican wine and made fresh tortas and agua fresca. Let us know if you would like Dom to preorder you some Mexican wine for your visit.
Same Same but Different Cafe - great breakfast spot with good coffee, smoothies and toasts.
Shaka’s Bar and Cantina - live music, kitchen is open later than other restaurants in the area.
Napoli Pizza located in Villas de Cerritos - pick up and delivery, typically open late.
Baja Beans Coffee- enjoy breakfast and coffee in the shaded courtyard and a local market on weekends
Pura Playa Beach Bar -great spot on the beach to grab drinks and watch the sunset often featuring live bands or DJs.
