Passport- PLEASE check that your passport is up to date and PLEASE do not leave renewing your passport to the last minute. No Visa is required for short trips to Mexico. When going through immigration, officials will give you a small slip of your immigration form back to you, hold on to this as you will need to show this to your airline when returning to your home country
Credit/Debit Cards - Notify your credit/debit card company you will be traveling in Mexico
Mexican Pesos - Some of the smaller shops, restaurants and services are cash only. Check with your bank at home if you can order foreign currency before you travel or exchange currency at the airport. If you are going to Todos Santos from Cerritos there is an ATM in Pescadero at the OXXO on the right side of the road. In Todos Santos there are two banks; Bancomer and Banorte where you can use your debit card to withdraw Pesos at the ATM.
Cell Service - Make sure you have cell service in Mexico, this is really beneficial and is basically a must. It is great for navigation and looking up information on the internet. Depending on your carrier, Mexico is often included in your plan or can be added for about $5-10 a day. Most Airbnb’s have WiFi though if your looking to work while in town double check with the host if it’s reliable and high speed.
Chargers/Cords -Mexico has the same outlets/sockets as the US
Sunscreen/Sunglasses/Hat - The sun is no joke and this is your forewarning to be sun safe and avoid those awful sunburns/tan lines in pictures!
Sweater/light jacket - It will be 70-80F during the day but may cool down to the 60s at night so be sure to pack an extra layer
Pepto Bismol, Imodium, Liquid IV - Stay hydrated, avoid dehydration and don’t drink the TAP WATER! Bring a water bottle and check with your airbnb if they supply a water jug, if these run empty you can typically pay to exchange for a new jug at the OXXO or buy big jugs of water to fill up your water bottle. We recommend you stock up on some Electrolit (similar to Pedilyte) which can be purchased at gas stations and supermarkets.
